I love to work with people who have a passion for their craft, and Steve Holzgraefe at MNIMA Lighting is certainly that. His talent is in creating exceptionally designed lighting – minimalist, refined, and sculptural. He says it best on his own website… “we start with large billets of aluminum and remove that which is not a light.”
Shooting a product that generates its own light is a wonderful challenge. To create this dramatic photography I use my studio lighting to enhance the glowing fixtures, but their own light and cast shadows really tell the story. It’s always a thrill for me to put the next piece on set and see what it does.
