The 2020 quarantine. Four of us crammed into our tiny house, doing our best to work and learn on a daily basis. Early in the pandemic we tried all working at the dining room table, but that didn’t last long. Once it became clear that the kids weren’t going back to school any time soon, I decided to make them each their own desk. Someday it’ll be a storied heirloom from a year they’ll never forget.
Having a furniture maker as a client has inspired me to uplevel my own woodworking game considerably. When they gave me some of the most beautiful wood I’ve ever seen, I knew I had to do it justice. With the same attention to detail that I apply in my photography, I designed and built this mid-century modern inspired desk with dovetails and elegantly tapered legs.
